"Where is he?" Ashley demanded, turning
and glaring at Zhane. Zhane held up his hands in surrender. "I
don't know Ash. He told me he'd be back in time." "What?! He'd be back in time? What is that
supposed to mean? Where is he? What if he gets hurt or killed or worse?
Doesn't he understand anything?" Ashley moaned, as Cassie gathered
her best friend in her arms. "If Andros said he'll be here, then he will. He doesn't break his word, Ash. We have to make sure that you're ready when he does. The wedding is in less than an hour." Cassie reminded her, as she herded her best friend into a small room. Before closing the door she glared at the men milling about and whispered. "Find Andros, now!" * * * Andros stared at the empty box. He didn't want
to believe it. Their toughest enemy was gone, released and he had no idea
where. "I'm too late." He muttered. He had heard through the intergalactic grapevine
that the keycards holding the Psycho Rangers in stasis weren't destroyed
when The Wave, as it was called, passed through. Andros felt that it was
his duty as the Red Ranger of Earth to find them and get rid of them once
and for all. Only he was too late. Andros wasn't sure how long he had stared at the
empty box, before he shook himself out of his reverie and glanced down
at his watched. "Uh oh. Ash is going to kill me." He gasped.
He had fifteen minutes to make it to his own wedding, but
he couldn't
help imaging what would happen if the Psychos were let loose over Downtown
Angel Grove. *I just hope she understands.* He thought as he ran
back to his ship. He was going to have to do this over the comm. system, not ideal in any circumstance, especially in this one. Praying that Ash would forgive him for standing her up at their own wedding, and that she would understand that he loved her more than anything, but this was a serious threat, he fired up the comm. "You're doing what?!" Ashley demanded,
as she stared at Andros. "But why now?" Andros looked stricken. "I don't have a choice
Ash. I love you; you know that. I would marry you in a heartbeat, but
I can't stop thinking about what would happen if the Psycho's got loose.
When I marry you I want my mind only thinking about you, not about threats
against the galaxy." Ashley stared at her fiancé, trying desperately not to cry. She understood what he was saying; the Psycho Rangers were a major threat to them, she didn't deny that. She just wished that it didn't have to be today. Today was supposed to be her day, not anyone else's. Everyone was there, and she didn't want to have to tell them that there would be no wedding because their old enemies might have come back to life. "Andros." She sighed. "Ashley, I'm sorry. I have to do this. I
won't be able to relax until it's done." Ashley nodded and ducked her head, unwilling to
make Andros feel any more guilty than he already was. "As long as
you want to marry me, then we'll be okay." Andros flinched as if she had slapped him. "Of
course I want to marry you. I wanted to marry you since I first laid eyes
on you." Ashley nodded. "Do you want us to join you?"
She asked. Andros nodded. "No, it'll be better if I'm
by myself. It'll be less conspicuous that way." Ashley gave him a hard look. "You're not
going to get yourself killed, are you?" "Trust me, it's not in the game plan."
He replied with a smile. Ashley felt the whisper of a caress across her
lips and her down her cheek. She closed her eyes and smiled. She loved
it when he did that. "I'm holding you to that." She whispered,
as a tear slipped down her cheek. Andros stared at his fiancée. He didn't
want to make her cry. He knew how important this was to her. She wanted
everything to be perfect and so did he. He didn't want to stand her up,
but it was beyond his control. They were still the Rangers of Earth and
as such they had a commitment to the safety of the planet. Granted there
hadn't been any attacks since The Wave, and they did more diplomatic work
than anything else, but the threat was always there. It could come at
anytime, now it had. "I'll be back as soon as I can Ash. You have
my promise." Ash smiled a bit. "You better, or my father
will come after you." "I love you." Andros said quietly. "I know. I love you too." Ash replied.
